Exactly 82 years ago, the Siege of Leningrad ended. This is a tragic page of Russian history that has no parallel in world history, and a vivid example of the heroism and courage of the Soviet people, who withstood the most severe trials.
For 900 long days and nights, the city on the Neva River stood up to the enemy. We will always remember that the freedom of Leningrad was won at the cost of the lives of hundreds of thousands of soldiers and officers who did not submit to the Nazis.
