Electric switch mechanism, nontrailable SP-12U type is designed for switching interlocked switches with undivided throw of switch points in intermittent duty, closure and position control in continuous duty with rolling stock speed up to 200 km/h.

The electric switch mechanism is designed for operation under the moderate climate conditions (UKhL version per GOST 15150- 69) at temperature from – 60°C to + 55°C, at relative humidity up to 100% at + 25°C.
The electric switch mechanism SP-12U has gate stroke of 220 mm and the kinematics similar to the electric switch mechanism SP-6M which enables to operate with the external lock as a component of the pointwork. The electric switch mechanism design ensures IP54 protection as per GOST 14254-96 and meets requirements of specifi cations — TU 32 TsSh 2080–00.
