January 27 is the Day of the Complete Liberation of Leningrad from the Nazi blockade in our country. The defense of Leningrad is a tragic and at the same time heroic event in the history of Russia. The siege lasted from September 8, 1941 and lasted 872 days. According to official data, 630,000 Leningraders died from cold, hunger, and bombing in the besieged city. According to historians, this figure can reach 800,000. 

The siege of Leningrad was broken on January 18, 1943. The siege was completely lifted on January 27, 1944. This day became the Day of Military Glory of Russia.
