The UK-S and UK-K control devices are additional stationary control devices within the switches included in the switch control system of an electric interlocking of switches and signals (EI) at railways stations including EI stations for arrangement of fast and high-speed train running.
The UK-S and UK-K control devices are designed to perform the following functions:
• to ensure control of actual fi nal position of switch blades in relation to a point rail, movable switch diamonds in points specifi ed by the switch design;
• to maintain control over integrity and serviceability of rods between switch blades and tie rods;
• to monitor correct adjustment (misadjustment) of shift mechanisms of the switchgear;
• to ensure control over bursting open the switch. It shouldn’t be capable to selfrestore after bursting open;
• to provide control over intact, operational or protective conditions of a switch irrespective of day time, weather conditions and other external destabilizing factors.
